Flood Damage to Restaurant Sub Floor

Salt Creek Grille - Rumson, NJ

CHALLENGE: 2012 brought Hurricane Sandy, 5 feet of water in the banquet facility, and NO POWER! When Hurricane Sandy hit the Jersey Shore with a force, local businesses like the Salt Creek Grille were determined to get back on their feet and operating A.S.A.P.

The banquet facility was in 5 feet of water. Not only did we have to remove the carpet and carpet pad, but several layers of old glue residue, pad residue and pad fibers needed to be scraped off before a new floor could even be considered.

All this while there was no electrical power for 2 full weeks!

SOLUTION: With the help of emergency generators work could begin. After the removal of the carpet and carpet pads the underlying concrete sub-floor was not in good shape. The first step was to grind the old residue. The concrete flooring was prepared with moisture/mold vapor retardant to seal the floor. A beautiful carpet tile was found from J&J Industries that matched the fabric of the partitions.

RESULTS: Job complete. Moisture issues under control. Salt Creek Grill opened their doors 3 weeks after the storm!
