aging country club sub flooring issues - case study

Jumping Brook Country Club - Neptune Township, NJ

CHALLENGE: The commercial interior design company, Galina Designs, commissioned Commercial Flooring & Interior Concepts to install a broadloom carpet from Shaw suitable for the hospitality industry. When the old carpet was ripped up the subfloor was disintegrated. The entry room was originally an outside porch / patio and the sub flooring was made of antique tile.

SOLUTION: The options were to either remove all the remaining sub floor tile and pour new concrete or to put tongue and groove plywood over the top of the existing sub flooring.

RESULTS: The owner decided to go with the plywood method because of the estimated time of completion. Click on the images below to see larger images of the disintegrating subflooring and the transformation with the installation of the new broadloom, hospitality strength carpet.
